Stephen Marsh has his eye on a lucrative Christmas prize with his progressive mare Scarlet's Secret.
The Cambridge trainer produced the four-year-old to double her winning tally when she accounted for her Rating 65 rivals at Te Awamutu on Tuesday. It was her first appearance since a maiden success at Hastings in the autumn.
"It was hard to put her out on a winning note, but she does need good tracks," Marsh said. "We've always had faith in her and she's strengthened up quite a bit now."
Marsh has set Scarlet's Secret for the Dunstan Feeds Rising Stars Championship, a 1500 metre event worth $80,000 at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.
