Kinagat's camp are bullish about his chances at Riccarton on Wednesday – provided he gets conditions to suit.
The five-year-old was a solid second on the opening day of the meeting in the Listed Pegasus Handicap and there is confidence he can go one better.
"I think he's the best sprinter in the field, but he needs a good track," said Michael Pitman, who prepares the Street Cry gelding in partnership with his son Matthew.
Kinagat won two races for Randwick trainer James Cummings before he was purchased by Pitman on behalf of prominent owners Ray and Jill Coupland. He has since added three more victories to his record.
