Stephen Marsh hasn't given any thought to the future of his Gr.1 NZ 2000 Guineas hero Ugo Foscolo.

"We're not going to commit to anything at the moment," the Cambridge trainer said.

"We'll let him get over the race and then have a good spell before we work things out."

Beaten just once in six appearances, Ugo Foscolo executed a long-term plan with his defeat of Savile Row and Heroic Valour in Saturday's feature event at Riccarton.

"Ever since he was a two-year-old the 2000 Guineas was the aim so we're very, very happy," Marsh said.

Ugo Foscolo is still in Christchurch and he will return home in the company of Seize The Moment and Thee Auld Floozie, who will represent the stable in Wednesday's Gr.2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile.

"He's still quite a fragile horse and it will do him good to travel back with the other two," Marsh said.

"They are both very well and ready to go. They had their final gallops on Sunday morning – all reports on them are good."

Marsh will also have a handful of runners at Te Awamutu on Tuesday with the promising Scarlet's Secret to resume in the Boxing Day @ Pirongia 1150.

"The rub of the green went against her a few times last campaign," he said. "She won nicely though at Hawke's Bay before she went for a spell.

"She's strengthened up and we gave her a quiet trial on wet track at Te Aroha. She's one who needs a decent surface." – NZ Racing Desk.
