Part-owned by New Zealand based Windsor Park Stud, blue-blooded Street Cry stallion Rageese returned to top form at Flemington on Thursday with a strong finishing win in the Gr.3 VRC L'Oreal Paris Stakes (1400m).
Second in the Gr.1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes at two behind Pride of Dubai, Rageese was also fourth in the Gr.1 Golden Rose and fifth in the Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas at three.
A homebred for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Rageese was transferred to the care of Darren Weir earlier this year and has made good progress for his new trainer.
Ridden by Damian Lane, Rageese powered to the line to win the 1400 metre sprint going away, by a length taking his overall record to four wins from 17 starts with prizemoney topping $550,000.
"It was an important win for his career after racing," said Darren Weir.
"We targeted this race and now hopefully he can go on to Perth for the Railway Stakes."
Rageese is out of Rabsha, a Dehere half-sister to Listed UAE Oaks winner Raihana from the family of champion mare Emancipation.
Windsor Park Stud will also be represented by future stallion Vanbrugh (Encosta De Lago) in the Gr.1 Emirates Stakes (2000m) on Saturday, with the entire also in line for a trip to Perth.
