Champion New Zealand jockey Lisa Allpress faces a lengthy period of recovery.
Her latest riding stint in Japan ended last month when she suffered a serious leg injury - she underwent surgery to fuse bone fragments back on her tibia – after parting company with a two-year-old on the way to the start.
"She's probably going to be out for eight to 10 months," her New Zealand agent Aidan Rodley said.
Allpress will return home from Tokyo as soon as she gets a clearance to travel.
