"His work wasn't as good as we'd hoped for so we'll bring him home to freshen up," said Andrew Scott, who trains the three-year-old with Lance O'Sullivan.
Sweet Leader won at Taupo and Te Rapa before he finished fifth in the Listed Barneswood Farm Stakes at Ashburton last month.
"The trip just didn't work out for him," said Scott, whose Guineas hopes will now rest on Cha Siu Bao.
