Capable short course performer Black Mascara is in good shape to open a new campaign at Te Rapa on Saturday.
"She trialled up nicely a little while ago and she's done a lot of work since then," said Moira Murdoch, who prepares the mare with her daughter Kieran. "She's got a good barrier draw and a nice weight as well."
Black Mascara will resume in the Listed Legacy Lodge Sprint, her first start since she won for the sixth time in her career at Ellerslie last December.
