Hollywood Lass looks destined to make her mark in better company this preparation after successfully resuming at Ellerslie.
The winner of one of her three starts last season, she finished runner-up in a lead-up trial to Tuesday's Scott Electrical 1200, in which she proved too good under rider Leith Innes after sitting outside the leader to the turn.
"She looked in great condition and all credit to the staff at home after I've been backwards and forwards to Australia," trainer Tony Pike said. "She'll improve and she's a talented mare – she's got the ability to go through the grades."
