The fillies' classic at Riccarton next month can't roll around soon enough for James Bridge.

The source of the Byerley Park trainer's impatience is Mystery Show, who ran a cracking trial for the Gr.1 gavelhouse.com New Zealand 1000 Guineas with her powerful finish for third in the Listed Soliloquy Stakes at Ellerslie.

"I've never travelled a horse south before and November 12 can't come quickly enough," Bridge said. "It's an exciting time."

Mystery Show drew an outside gate on Saturday and it was always the intention for rider Mark Du Plessis to drop back.

"I thought we had the best filly in the race, but from that draw it was always going to be hard for her," Bridge said.

"We didn't want to knock her around and give her a really hard run by pressuring her to get on the speed.

"I was surprised how she picked them up – she looked a bit flat at one stage. She was very strong to the line though and it was a very good Guineas trial."

Mystery Show is now the joint fourth favourite at $8 with Honey Rider behind the $4 fancy La Diosa for the Riccarton feature.

"She pulled up as good as ever after Ellerslie and she feels fantastic in her action," Bridge said. "The mile and the big track will suit her."

Mystery Show has won two of her five starts and she has yet to finish out of the money. Her placings include a third in the Gr.3 Gold Trail Stakes. – NZ Racing Desk.
