"We're trying to get him to be more tractable, he can be a bit fierce in the run," trainer Allan Sharrock said.
The five-year-old posted his fifth career success last time out at Hawera and will be back in action in the Hanley Formula Premier at Trentham on Saturday.
"We might then look for a nice mile somewhere before Christmas if there's still some rain around," Sharrock said.
