The Gr.1 Melbourne Cup has been ruled out for the New Zealand-bred stablemates Preferment and Sacred Master.
Trainer Chris Waller said the former would instead be freshened with the Gr.1 Emirates (Mackinnon) Stakes in mind while Sacred Master will be spelled and return for an autumn campaign.
