Chris Waller believes the Gr.2 Moonee Valley Gold Cup on Saturday is the ideal race for Who Shot Thebarman to further his preparation for another crack at the Gr.1 Melbourne Cup.
"I like the Moonee Valley track as it's quite forgiving," Waller said. "Who Shot Thebarman has a high rating, but gets in under the set-weights and penalties conditions of the race well."
The New Zealand-bred and owned stayer finished third behind Protectionist in the Melbourne Cup in 2014 before an unplaced run last year.
