Allan Sharrock is in no rush to have the unbeaten Mihaul back at the races.
"I'm going to take my time with him – the Derby's not until March," the New Plymouth trainer said.
"He might go to the Waverley trials on Thursday, I'll decide on that after he's worked in the morning (Tuesday). He's doing very, very well."
Mihaul was successful on debut last season at Hastings, where he beat the Gr.1 Sothys NZ 2000 Guineas contender Hall of Fame, and he was put aside after he overcame a heavy track to win at Awapuni.
