Highly-regarded staying prospect Royal Success is making good progress toward a return to racing.
Beaten only once in four appearances, he hasn't been seen out since he completed his hat-trick of wins at Te Rapa in June and while he holds a nomination for the Gr.2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile, he won't be going south.
"I think that will come up too soon for him," co-trainer Jamie Richards said. "It's been wet so we're taking our time with him and he's a big, strong horse - a very progressive stayer in the making."
