Precocious youngster Waldorf has opened the account of his sire Highly Recommended in good time.
The Andrew Campbell-trained juvenile was successful on debut at Tauherenikau on Thursday to give the Berkeley Stud Stallion his first winner from only three race day representatives.
"He sat wide and still won nicely – it was a good effort and he's Karaka Million-nominated so we'll aim for that," said Campbell, who also won the opening event with Werther's brother Gobstopper.
A son of Fastnet Rock, Highly Recommended won two races in Victoria including the Gr.2 Alister Clark Stakes. – NZ Racing Desk.
