Stakes performer He's No Saint will be off the scene for some time after undergoing stem cell surgery for a ligament injury.
"It was successful and he'll have 12 months off, but he's a young horse and there's absolutely no reason why he won't come back as well as ever," trainer Karen Fursdon said.
The lightly-tried five-year-old broke his maiden over ground at Ellerslie earlier this year and two runs later he finished fourth in the Listed New Zealand St Leger at Trentham.
