Cambridge trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman are almost certain to double their hand in Saturday's Gr.1 Livamol Classic.
Mime will be a leading contender following her second placing behind Kawi in the Gr.1 Windsor Park Plate and she is now likely to be joined in the Hawke's Bay feature by Saint Emilion.
He produced a typically determined display to win at New Plymouth on Saturday in his first appearance for the season.
"He will probably run and he's a very good horse – when you look at his record he's been in a lot of close finishes and fought them off," Baker said.
"Mime is really well and if there's a bit of rain around that won't count against her."
Mime is currently the $5.50 second favourite behind Rasa Lila ($3.80) while Saint Emilion's odds were slashed from $81 to $31 following his New Plymouth success.
The stable also enjoyed another productive weekend across the Tasman where La Luna Rossa finished runner-up in the Gr.2 Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield while Saracino was fifth, after an interrupted run, in the Gr.3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude.
"We didn't have much luck with the colt, but that's the way it goes sometimes," Baker said. "On that run I think he'll run the mile okay."
He was referring to Saracino's step up to 1600 metres for the first time in the $A1 million Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas on Saturday week.
"The filly was very good as well and she'll improve with that run," Baker said.
La Luna Rossa finished second in the Listed O'Leary's Fillies Stakes at Wanganui at her previous start, her first appearance since she won last season's Gr.1 Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes. – NZ Racing Desk.
