Street Smart is considered a cups horse of the future, but don't be surprised if he gives a bold account of himself at Pukekohe Park on Sunday.
The four-year-old will be resuming in the Mount Shop Rating 75 and while the 1400 metres is well short of his best, he is capable of a surprise.
"He's a dead-set stayer, but he can sprint well fresh," Cambridge trainer Shaune Ritchie said.
Street Smart also has a good first-up record having been a maiden winner on debut last season and he also finished runner-up when returning after a break in the autumn.
"He has won at Pukekohe before as well so he can go a cheeky race," Ritchie said. "He'll be looking for more ground fairly quickly after this though."
