Bold showings at Te Aroha have confirmed Thenamesbond and Raisafuasho as starters at Ellerslie next Saturday.
The former led all the way to win Sunday's CRV Ambreed Open Hurdle with Raisafuasho making late ground for third and they will now renew their rivalry in the Schweppes Great Northern Hurdles.
Thenamesbond was ridden by Englishman Will Gordon, who completed a double at Te Aroha when he was successful aboard Mr Kanton, and he will retain the mount in the Auckland feature.
"We got the rider we've been asking for," trainer Stephen Ralph said. "He's a front-runner and that's the way to ride him."
