Trainer Mick Price says the cancellation of Monday's Cranbourne barrier trials will not affect dual Group One winner Tarzino when he resumes in Saturday's Gr.1 New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
A winner of last season's VRC Derby and Rosehill Guineas, Tarzino hasn't raced since finishing fourth behind Tavago in the Australian Derby in April.
The son of Tavistock galloped on the course proper at Caulfield on Tuesday morning.
"I don't think it will affect his preparation much," trainer Mick Price said. "The Memsie is not the be all and end all for him. I wasn't going to have him gunned up for the Memsie anyway especially when we want to have him peaking in races like the Turnbull and the Caulfield Cup."
