Haunui Farm shuttle stallion Iffraaj has been represented by his sixth individual Group One winner when his northern hemisphere bred son Ribchester turned in a commanding performance to land the Gr.1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville on Sunday.

A high-class three-year-old trained by Richard Fahey, Ribchester had previously been Group One placed in both the Sussex Stakes and the English 2000 Guineas.

As the race entered its final stages, the colt was travelling beautifully under William Buick and pulled clear to win by half a length.

Ribchester becomes the sixth individual Group One winner for his sire Iffraaj, whose other leading performers include New Zealand's Champion Sprinter and Champion Middle Distance galloper Turn Me Loose, in addition to Benvenue, Chriselliam, Rizeena and Wootton Bassett.

A 15-year-old son of Zafonic, Iffraaj stands at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket and shuttles to Haunui Farm in New Zealand where he will stand for a fee of $17,500 + GST for the forthcoming breeding season.
