Rasa Lila provided her co-trainer and rider Julia Ritchie with a pleasant winning surprise at Tuesday's Te Teko trials.
"I was really, really pleased with her," she said. "We were in the worst of the going, but she did it easily."
Unraced since she was successful in the Gr.2 Travis Stakes at Te Rapa in the autumn, Rasa Lila holds Group One nominations for the Windsor Park Plate and the Livamol Classic at the Hawke's Bay spring carnival.
