Dalakhani, the sire of top level winners Conduit and Integral, has been retired from covering duties at the Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval at the age of 16.
Owned and bred by the Aga Khan, the son of Darshaan is out of the Listed-winning Miswaki mare Daltawa and is a half-brother to seven-time Group/Grade 1 winner and sire Daylami.
Trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, Dalakhani won eight races during his career with four of those coming at the highest level.
At the end of his two-year-old season he landed the Criterium International and at three he went on to win the Prix Lupin, Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Retired to stud after his victory in the Longchamp showpiece, he took up stallion duties at the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud in Ireland where he spent 12 seasons before moving to Haras de Bonneval after completing his 2015 stud duties.
He had been standing his first-season at the French stud at a fee of €15,000 in 2016 but was removed from covering duties earlier this year due to an unspecified veterinary problem.
Dalakhani is the sire of eight Group/Grade 1 winners including Sir Michael Stoute's globetrotting star Conduit, Irish St Leger scorer Duncan, Sun Chariot Stakes heroine Integral and 2011 Prix du Jockey Club hero Reliable Man who stands at Westbury Stud.
