A drop in weight on Saturday will be of significant help to the in-form mare Aide Memoire at New Plymouth.
The four-year-old will enjoy the relief after finishing runner-up in the Listed Tauranga Classic last time out with 57kg.
"She's not that big and the 53kg suits her a whole lot more," said trainer Fraser Auret, who was thrilled with her performance on a testing Tauranga track.
"I was tired just watching her. I was very proud of her and that was her first trip away."
