Talented Tavistock gelding Airlie House will do his future racing in Singapore.

The Robert Patterson-trained four-year-old gelding won five of his 18 starts and placed in a further seven races, including a last-start Te Rapa second behind Snowdrop in May.

Heather Crofskey, who bred Airlie House in partnership with her husband Peter and raced him with Alice Doorbar, Terry and Annie Hinton and Bruce Pepperell, tweeted the news on Wednesday.

"Airlie House (Tavistock) sold to Singapore. The little guy will give a good account of himself I'm sure. Left in splendid order," she tweeted.

On Thursday, Crofskey told NZ Racing Desk she was sorry to see Airlie House go, but the money was too good to refuse.

"It was a bit sad in a way but the offer we had for a rising five-year-old who needs a good track to operate at his best was very good," she said.

"I'm sure he'll go well in Singapore. They race on a good track there and he's a 1:09 sprinter on top of the ground so he should be competitive. We'll keep following him and hopefully get up to Singapore to see him race. He's given us a lot of fun and hopefully still will."

Airlie House has joined the stable of David Kok, with the conditioner enjoying elite level success earlier this month with New Zealand-bred galloper Well Done taking out the Singapore Derby. - NZ Racing Desk
