Former New Zealand apprentice Kei Chiong is the inaugural winner of the Tony Cruz Award, presented to the leading local rider in Hong Kong.
"I feel very happy," she said. "It is an honour to win the Tony Cruz Award, it is meaningful for us locals, and I was lucky I could win a race for him today – it was double happy."
Chiong, who was also voted the most popular jockey in Hong Kong, was successful aboard the Cruz-trained Multimax.
