A colt with close ties to a former Australian Horse of the Year made the perfect start to his career at Otaki on Friday.
The Lisa Latta-trained Manhattan Street was successful on debut and in the process he credited Kelly McCullough (nee Myers) with her first victory since her comeback from injury.
"Lisa has taken her time with him as he's a big colt and he will make a lovely three-year-old," stable representative Miranda Duthie said.
By Manhattan Rain, Manhattan Street is out of the Redoute's Choice mare Charming Estelle who is a sister to the multiple Group One-winning sprinter Lankan Rupee.
