Savile Row will head for a break with a perfect record after he overcame testing track conditions for a debut win at Avondale on Wednesday.
"He's going to the paddock now and he'll come back for the three-year-old races," said Pam Gerard, who trains the Makfi colt with Michael Moroney.
A placegetter at the Te Awamutu trials earlier this month, Savile Row raced close to the pace and drew clear to score at odds of 26-1 after hitting the front 250 metres from home.
"He's always showed quite a bit of ability," Gerard said. "He jumped sideways at the trials and got further back than we wanted."
