Fanatic's first major test of the new season will come at the Hawke's Bay spring carnival.
Plans are for the New Zealand Oaks winner to be given the opportunity to double her Group One tally in the Windsor Park Plate on the middle day of the meeting at Hastings on September 17.
"She's been back for nearly three weeks and her main aim will be Hawke's Bay," said Debbie Sweeney, who trains the daughter of Shocking with her father Graeme Sanders.
"The 1400 metre race on the first day (the Gr.1 Makfi Challenge Stakes) might be a bit sharp for her and stepping up to the mile will suit her better.
"We'll give her a trial first and maybe take her to the races for a gallop."
The Melbourne spring carnival is also on Fanatic's radar, although specific targets have yet to be set.
"We'll just wait and see how she comes up as a four-year-old before we make any plans, there are a lot of options," Sweeney said.
Meanwhile, the stable is expecting another solid performance from the two-year-old Thistledonicely in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race at Avondale on Wednesday.
The Darci Brahma filly hasn't raced since she finished fifth on debut at Te Aroha in February.
"She trialled up well here the other day and we've been pleased with her," Sweeney said. "She went really nicely at Te Aroha and there's some form come out of that race."
It was won by Midnight Gossip, since unplaced but less than four lengths from the winner in the Gr.1 Diamond Stakes, while runner-up Astara subsequently won the Listed Champagne Stakes and My Paisann has been another winner out of the event. – NZ Racing Desk.
