Talented South Island galloper Hayley Maree is likely to be out of action for the rest of the year.
The five-year-old finished fourth in the North Island Challenge Stakes at her last appearance, but she pulled up sore and will undergo surgery to remove bone chips. She has also suffered a ligament injury.
Hayley Maree has won five of her 14 starts for owner-trainer Kelvin Tyler and she also ran fourth in the Gr.1 Captain Cook Stakes in the summer.
