Ribchester, a son of Haunui Farm shuttle stallion Iffraaj, took out the Gr. 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot overnight.
Stepping down in class after running third to Galileo Gold in the Gr. 1 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, the Godolphin-owned Ribchester showed his class and skipped away from his rivals to win by two and a quarter lengths.
"I felt we had a better horse today than we had in the Guineas and I would look forward to meeting those Guineas horses in the future," trainer Richard Fahey told Racing Post.
"I was quietly confident three furlongs out and I thought to myself: 'He wins now.' I knew it would take a fair one to beat us, because he really does pick up."
Ribchester has now had six starts for two wins, two seconds and that 2000 Guineas third placing.
