Multiple winner Speech Craft is likely to have his final campaign in the spring.
"We'll bring him back when it gets really cold and potter along to have him ready to go again, but it will be his last season," trainer Trina Riddell said.
"He may go show-jumping – he's become a bit of a family pet and our daughter has had a few rides on him."
Speech Craft was bought as a tried horse for $5500 at Karaka in May, 2015 and he has since won twice and earned nearly $45,000 for a large syndicate of owners that includes Riddell.
