Group One-winning Tarzino is stepping up his preparations ahead of major spring targets.
Victoria Derby winner Tarzino is in pre-training at Limitless Lodge on the NSW Central Coast with trainer Mick Price to aim him at the Cups.
After winning the Rosehill Guineas, Tarzino was odds-on favourite for the Australian Derby at Randwick but finished fourth behind fellow Cambridge Stud-alumni Tavago.
Tarzino and Tavago are both by resident Cambridge Stud sire Tavistock, and are $15 joint favourites for the Caulfield Cup in October.
"He's spelled really well," Price said of Tarzino.
"He's had eight or nine weeks off and I left him up there for the better weather.
"It's where some of the nice horses get pre-trained and he's happy, he's healthy and he's sound."
